As a Developer, I am responsible for all new projects and updating of existing websites. I need to learn new skills when the project requires it. I got to learn how to customize the Admin for WordPress through these projects.
I have interpreted the specifications given and from the designs provided coded website listed below:
- Green Building Convention 2015
- Sustainable Brands 2016 Cape Town (view website)
- Global Destination Sustainability Index (view website)
Both myself and Director worked on this website due to its deadline
I am currently busy with a few projects.
(Aug 2013 – Aug 2014)
As Operations, I had to work with clients to ensure that the requested changes and/ or new development got distributed to the in-house team; either to the Designer, Front-end or Back-end Developers.
As a Developer, I was involved in the front-end development of projects. Making requested changes, updating content to websites or slicing up designs to code new websites working with a back-end developer.
Languages I used were HTML, CSS, JS and PHP. I was also involved with Email Marketing (mailers); the coding of new templates and updating the relevant content for each mailer. I firstly had to do internal testing before sending a signoff link for client approval; only after the client gave the go ahead could I send out the mailer to the email accounts in the database using TouchBase Pro. The last couple of months before leaving CentreBlue, I worked with MailChimp, because the company decided to migrate from TouchBase Pro to MailChimp.
I interpreted the specifications given and from the designs provided coded the front-end of the following websites listed below:
- Propventures (view website)
- Propsolve (view website)
- SAAMA Conference 2014 (view website)
- Surf Shop Arabia (view website) This website has now been migrated to a CMS website
(May 2012 – March 2013)
I had the opportunity to work with Flex and ColdFusion to build and amend, both Web and Desktop Air Applications. This was a learning experience for me as I had no prior knowledge and required skills for the position that I applied for.
MediaMind ZA (Now known as Sizmek)
(September 2010 – April 2012)
I had to support the Creative Agencies via email, telephone and Instant Messaging with any queries they had. I had to do the QA of advertisements, where I had to make sure that the Eyeblaster code within the advertisements were implemented correctly and that all requirements were met. I was also involve in production work where I had to create advertisements as per the clients’ request, using the Eyeblaster code, AS 2.0 and AS 3.0.
Smallworld Digital t/a Inxcom
(October 2007 – August 2010)
I was and Intern for the months of October until the end of December 2007, and were kept on as a permanent employee from January 2008.
The first tasks I had to perform was to update content on the various websites that they were maintaining. I also now and then had to make banners, either in flash or jpg/gif formats.
I had the privilege to take over the front-end coding of the new design for Runners’ World Magazine, from a designer who left the company. I had to finish the coding of the homepage and complete the entire website, working with the back-end developer. I worked with HTML, CSS, JS and PHP. I also worked with flash elements using AS 2.0.
The company had its own CMS that was built by one of their developers. I had to make changes to functions to perform the desired functionalities on the front-end. I had to use the functions already available to pull in content from the database to display on the website dynamically. I also added some of my own functions and altered some of the existing functions.
I interpreted the specifications given and from the designs provided coded the front-end of the following websites listed below. Please be advice that these websites have been worked on since I’ve last worked on them and some no longer exists:
- SA Sports Illustrated
- Main website
- Swimwear 2009 (web and mobile site)
